Award for Rovema

The Hershey company has presented its Supplier Excellence Award for Innovation to Rovema GmbH. The packaging machinery manufacturer received the award for introducing Doypack-like stand-up pouches for a variety of confectionery products from the brand producer.

The company from Fernwald in Central Hesse has developed several tubular bag machines – „Rovema BVC Flexible“ – which, in addition to the stand-up pouches desired by Hershey, can also produce flat pouches, side gusseted pouches and four-side sealed edge pouches with and without zip closure. The machine series – for bag widths up to 260 or 400 mm – can produce a Doypack-like bag on a vertical packaging machine that is as visually appealing as a comparable horizontally produced bag, but offers all the advantages of vertical packaging, for example lower operating costs, higher flexibility and smaller footprint.

A number of machines were delivered within a short time period and Rovema undertook to support several different production locations on-site. „Our collaboration with Hershey showcases Rovema’s commitment not only to innovative machine design, but also to exemplary customer service,“ said John Panaseny, President of Rovema North America.
