A study conducted by the market research company Kantar on behalf of Elopak looked into the question of which packaging consumers in Germany want for plant-based milk alternatives. According to the study, the sustainability of the packaging is particularly important in this product segment.

Mondelēz Switches Cheese Brands to Recyclable Packaging

Mondelēz is now using recyclable packaging for its Dairylea and Philadelphia cheese brands in the UK and Ireland since August 2021. The move is part of the company’s “Pack Light and Pack Right” strategy, which aims for all packaging to be recyclable by 2025, among other targets.

Landliebe Presents New Cup

Landliebe’s “semolina pudding with sauce” dessert range is getting more varieties, but also new packaging: from the end of June 2021, the semolina puddings will be underlaid with sauce and offered in a dessert cup. Compared to the previous two-compartment cup, this will consist of 41 percent less plastic.

Less Plastic at Rewe

Less plastic waste again, in this case no less than 69 tons per year: Rewe is dispensing with the additional plastic lid on certain private label cups. As an alternative, reusable lids made of platinum silicone will be available for purchase.

A recent survey by the VDMA shows that 44 percent of mechanical engineering companies in Baden-Württemberg are cautiously optimistic about the rest of the year. The reason for this is an improvement in the supply of materials, with the exception of electronic components. As a result, 68 percent of companies in Baden-Württemberg expect nominal sales growth for 2023.
