Application Phase for the German Packaging Award Extended

The German Packaging Institute (dvi) is extending the submission phase for the German Packaging Award 2023. Companies, institutes and individuals from Germany and abroad can now submit their best solutions across materials and industries in 10 categories with fixed criteria until May 31, 2023.

“The German Packaging Award is the most prestigious and largest showcase of achievements in all aspects of packaging in Europe. Since its first edition in 1963, more than 10,000 entries have competed for the industry’s top European award – and the appeal of the prize continues unabated,” says Oliver Berndt, head of events and marketing at the dvi.

10 categories with fixed criteria

To submit their products or prototypes, participants can choose from 10 categories ranging from design and finishing to goods presentation, cost-effectiveness and sustainability, logistics and material flow, digitalization and packaging machinery. It is also possible to submit in several categories at the same time.

Gold Award

In addition to the Packaging Award, the independent expert jury of the German Packaging Award can also present a Gold Award for particularly groundbreaking innovations that stand out even among the packaging award winners. “Our jury consists of a broad-based panel of experts from business, research, academia and the media. It examines all entries personally and directly at a two-day meeting at the premises of premium partner IGEPA group,” explains Berndt. According to Berndt, the German Packaging Award is “a strong, transparent and promotionally effective showcase of achievements. As winners, companies put a strong exclamation mark. They demonstrate their outstanding innovative strength and gain tangible arguments for external and internal communication.”

Submission and award ceremony

Together with its premium partner FACHPACK, the dvi invites companies to Berlin on September 13, 2023, for the festive recognition and awarding of the winners.
