“Bavaria’s Best Organic Product”

Weideschuss Bio GmbH from Wiggensbach was awarded the silver medal of the Bavarian Association for Organic Agriculture (LVÖ) for its product Böfflamott. The packaging also impressed the jury.

A Bavarian national dish has earned Weideschuss Bio GmbH, based in Wiggensbach, its first major award. The Böfflamott from Allgäu pasture-raised beef received a silver medal in the “Bavaria’s Best Organic Product” competition. This was announced by the State Association for Organic Agriculture in Bavaria (LVÖ).

The Allgäu-based company convinced the jury with a self-contained value chain for organic regional and handmade beef dishes. Taste, appearance, and packaging play just as important a role in the evaluation and awarding of prizes as animal welfare, sustainability, innovation, and creativity. At least two-thirds of the products entered must be made with ingredients that come from purely Bavarian production. Böfflamot is a traditional meat dish of Bavarian cuisine. For this, beef is pickled in red wine and then braised. On Tuesday, May 30, the “organic queen” Annalena I will officially present the certificate to Weideschuss Bio GmbH in Wiggensbach.
