FachPack, the European trade fair for packaging, processes and technology, opens on 24 September 2019.
Around 1,600 exhibitors will present their innovations to 45,000 expected trade visitors in twelve halls at the NürnbergMesse. The trade fair will be supplemented by a wide-ranging programme with numerous specialist lectures, special shows and award ceremonies. Following last year’s great initial success, the Forum PackBox (Hall 7) will again be strengthened by the Forum TechBox (Hall 4), with some 70 different lectures, workshops and discussions in all. Numerous special shows and theme parks focus on different areas of interest, and the pavilion of the European associations in Hall 5 invites visitors to network. New this year: besides the German Packaging Award, the Sustainability Awards will also be presented for the first time at FachPack.
Forums and special show
For the first time there will also be a Guided Tour to show interested visitors specifically solutions for all aspects of packaging and technology for pharmaceutical, chemical and medical (technical) products. The meeting point for this will be on 26 September at 1.30 p.m. in Hall 4, Stand 4-138. bayern design will be presenting the special show “Environmentally friendly packaging in the premium sector” on behalf of NürnbergMesse in Hall 8. This shows different approaches to sustainable packaging design in terms of concept and realisation. The topics of the marketplace “Smart packaging – Printed Electronics and more” in Hall 9 are exciting and topical: “Printed Electronics – on the way to digital packaging”, “Smart Packaging solutions as a marketing and sales tool”, “New materials for more functionality and sustainability”, to give just three examples. Following its première last year the Association Pavilion will return to Hall 5. In this networking area, around a dozen associations will provide information and advice on association services and national differences in the packaging industry in Europe.
The ceremony honouring the winners of the renowned German Packaging Award, which has been established at FachPack for decades, will be on 24 September at 4 pm, and the award-winning packaging solutions will be shown at the stand of the German Packaging Institute (dvi) in Hall 5. A new event at FachPack this year is the Sustainability Awards, presented by Packaging Europe. The awards ceremony will take place on 25 September at 5.30 pm, and the award-winning products will be on display in Hall 7.
