New bars in paper packaging

Food manufacturer Nestlé is launching a new range of nut and fruit bars under the YES! brand on the German market from July 2019. They are packaged in recyclable paper using innovative technology.

The new YES! bars are wrapped in recyclable paper packaging, which can be recycled like any daily newspaper through the waste paper collection system, explains Nestlé. The company is the first in the industry to pack the bars in paper using what is known as “high-speed flow wrap” packaging technology, which was previously reserved for plastic films and laminates. “This technical innovation allows confectionery manufacturers to use recyclable paper packaging on a large scale while ensuring product quality throughout the shelf life,” it says.

Especially for food the benchmark for packaging is particularly high, as it has to protect the valuable content and also look as attractive as possible. At FachPack you will see innovative solutions from innovative exhibitors. More information can be found here.

The paper comes from sustainable sources certified by the NGOs Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. The introduction of the new paper-packed snack bars is a further step in Nestlé’s strategy to make all its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025.
