Packaging by Quadient will Become Sparck Technologies

Packaging by Quadient, a specialist in automated 3D packaging solutions, will become Sparck Technologies. The name change comes after Amsterdam-based investor Standard Investment acquired Quadient’s packaging division in Drachten, the Netherlands, on August 1, 2021.

The new owner took on all 300 employees and announced plans to invest in further development of CVP Everest and CVP Impack. The two automated packaging systems for the production of form-fitted cartons revolutionized the packaging and shipping strategies of numerous international retail and e-commerce companies. Sparck Technologies aims to continue the success story of sustainable 3D packaging systems. The company is headquartered at its production site in Drachten, the Netherlands, where research and development, technical service, marketing and sales are also located. The company also has subsidiaries in the USA, Germany, France and the UK.

Claus Weigel, Senior International Sales Manager in the DACH region, emphasizes, “In the DNA of our
company is anchored in the development of innovations and the application of high-tech technologies. This will continue to be the case. In 2014, we were one of the first companies worldwide to enter the niche market for high-speed production of custom-fit shipping packages. With this many years of experience in international business, we are no newcomer to the market. Our customers will not only notice the new logo on the service technicians’ clothing, but also advancements in service and technology.”
