New Board Member at the German Packaging Institute

The German Packaging Institute (dvi) has co-opted Roman Billiani, CEO Business Unit Food & Specialities MM PACKAGING GmbH, to the board.

Roman Billiani takes over the dvi board seat from Dr. Andreas Blaschke, who resigned from the MM Group board after 21 years as a member and in the process also ended his board activities for the dvi. “Roman Billiani is a real asset for the Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e. V.,” said dvi Board Chairman Wolf-Dieter Baumann. “With his expertise and many years of experience in the field of fiber-based packaging materials and packaging, Roman Billiani perfectly complements our board. He will help us to take the dvi a step forward once again and develop it further in the interests of our member companies. I am very much looking forward to working with him,” said Baumann.

Before joining the MM Group, Roman Billiani was CEO of Palm Packaging for four years. Prior to that, Billiani had spent more than 15 years in senior management positions for the Mondi Group after graduating in Business Administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, obtaining a Six Sigma Black Belt certification, and completing the Emerging Leader Program at the Malik Management School in St. Gallen.

“I am very much looking forward to my new responsibilities on the dvi board,” Billiani commented on his co-option. “The dvi is the only network in the packaging industry that counts companies from the entire packaging value chain among its members and thus represents in this totality. Through its initiatives and offerings, the dvi drives innovation and provides an important forum for stakeholder dialogue. It is an honor for me to support and further intensify this work as a member of the board,” said Billiani.

Earlier, at the German Packaging Congress, the dvi appointed its long-time chairman and CEO of the Berndt+Partner Group, Thomas Reiner, as honorary president.
