Even luxury packaging can be sustainable

Hoffmann Neopac, a global supplier of high-quality packaging for a variety of industries and applications, has been recognized in two prestigious industry competitions for several of its innovative packaging solutions.

Neopac has been nominated as one of five finalists for the Green Award at LuxePack New York. With its PICEA tube for a Madara brand hair care product. The wood tube consists of 95 percent renewable raw materials, which are extracted from PEFC-certified forests in the EU. According to the manufacturer, the tube offers a carbon dioxide balance that is 40 percent better than that of conventional polyethylene tubes, but also has high-quality properties in terms of barrier, decoration, food suitability or recyclability.

At another venue, at the 50th anniversary of the renowned Swiss Packaging Awards, Neopac emerged as the winner in one category and was nominated for two more: The InShape Box for e-cigarettes won the coveted prize in the Design category. This curved box was specially designed for the Swiss e-cigarette market. Its unique design and material clearly sets it apart from other square cardboard packaging. The practical and user-friendly D3 Piccolo drip tube was nominated for the Convenience category. The innovative drip system allows the precise dosage of 200 I.E. vitamin D and is therefore an ideal solution for children. The glass-free tube packaging is also particularly easy to transport and safe. The PICEA wooden tube, which has already been mentioned, was nominated in the sustainability category.

Cornelia Schmid, Head of Marketing at Hoffmann Neopac, explained: “As an important player in the packaging industry, these awards confirm our commitment to innovation and sustainability initiatives”.
