Combivita, the family packs from SIG, has won the German Packaging Award in the category “Functionality and Convenience”. The jury was particularly impressed by the truTwist cap, which remains firmly attached to the beverage package even after opening (“tethered cap”).
The German Packaging Award was presented on the first day of FACHPACK. Among the winners was SIG, which was honored for its Combivita packaging. “The large opening combined with the beveled top area of the package allow easy pouring to the last drop. The cap remains firmly attached to the pack even after opening, thus complying with the EU directive on single-use plastics. The cap snaps easily into place when opened and does not interfere with pouring. An audible click provides reassurance that the cap is securely open and closed. Combivita is an all-around convincing solution that is easy to use for every consumer,” said the jury.
The German Packaging Award bythe German Packaging Institute (dvi) is one of the most prestigious European awards for packaging. It was awarded in ten categories. SIG convinced the jury in the “Functionality and Convenience” category.

Combivita is available in three volume sizes (500, 750 and 1,000 ml), has a beveled head area and a particularly large opening. Thanks to the tethered cap “truTwist” with a diameter of 32.5 mm, easy pouring is possible. The organic shape on the back of Combivita eases handling for consumers of all ages and under a variety of circumstances, the manufacturer explains.
