New Board of Directors at the German Packaging Institute
The German Packaging Institute e. V. (dvi) has two new board members: Gabriele Hässig, Managing Director of Communications and Sustainability at Procter & Gamble (P&G) Service GmbH, and Bernd Büsing, Head of Corporate Packaging at Nestlé Germany.
The German Packaging Institute (Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e. V.) announces changes on the board of the packaging industry network. Stephan Wirtz, managing director of Jeschenko MedienAgentur Berlin GmbH, Wolfgang Hinkel, consultant and owner of WH Beratungs- und Handels GmbH, Torge Kirchhoff, partner at Taxellenz GmbH Steuerberatungsgesellschaft, and Dr. Monika Kaßmann, board member of Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Fördertechnik und Verpackung e. V. (WGFV), have ended their board activities for the dvi. “We would like to express our sincere thanks to the departing board members for their great work. They have given our network outstanding voluntary work over many years and played a decisive role in shaping its successful path,” says dvi board chairman Wolf-Dieter Baumann.
Board elections
In turn, the dvi can welcome two new board members. “With Gabriele Hässig from Procter & Gamble and Bernd Büsing from Nestlé Germany, we are gaining an extremely high level of expertise, know-how and experience. I am very much looking forward to working together,” said Baumann. At the dvi board meeting on December 9, 2021, dvi board chairman Wolf-Dieter Baumann and board member Dr. Bettina Horenburg, Director Corporate Communications at Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA, as well as board members Stephan Karl, Managing Director Mid Europe at Tetra Pak GmbH, Dr. Andreas Blaschke, Member of the Board of Mayr-Melnhof Packaging International GmbH, and Fabian Neumann, Head of Public Relations and Sustainability at Schwarz Produktion GmbH & Co. KG, were re-elected. Fabian Neumann was also elected as the new Vice Chairman of the Management Board.
Gabriele Hässig is Managing Director Communications and Sustainability at Procter & Gamble Service GmbH. She is responsible for communications, public affairs and sustainability in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Before moving to the top of Corporate Communications in 2012, she was in charge of international communications for P& G Prestige’s country organizations and, prior to that, of the Group’s brand communications in the DACH region. In addition to these duties, Hässig is involved as Vice Chairwoman in the Industrieverband Körperpflege- und Waschmittel (IKW), is on the Board of Trustees of the Rheingau Music Festival and is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany (AmCham).
Bernd Büsing is Head of Corporate Packaging at Nestlé Germany. Previously, the trained industrial mechanic and packaging technology graduate was Beverage Packaging Lead at the Nestlé Product Technology Center (PTC) in Orbe, Switzerland, for four years until the beginning of 2020. Büsing started his career as a packaging specialist at Nestlé PTC Kemptthal in Switzerland after training at Deutsche Bahn and studying at the Stuttgart Media University (HDM). This was followed by positions as Technical Manager Packaging at the Maggi factory in Singen am Hohentwiel, Senior Packaging Specialist at the Nestlé R&D Center Ltd in Singapore, Packaging Innovation and Sustainability Manager at Nestlé Germany, and Global Head of Consumer Centric Packaging & Packaging Recovery Focus Area Leader at Nestlé headquarters in Switzerland.
