Numerous International Visitors

About 32,00 visitors from 90 countries took advantage of the opportunity to find out about the latest trends and innovations at FACHPACK 2022. The leading theme „Transition in Packaging“ hit the nerve of the times, as those responsible for the trade fair summed up. The next FACHPACK will take place at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 24 to 26 September 2024 after a break year.

„Finally, a normal trade fair feeling again!“ That was the tenor of the exhibitors and visitors at FACHPACK, which is closing its doors after three successful days. Around 32,000 trade visitors, one in three of them from abroad, took the opportunity to find out about the latest trends and innovations at the exhibition stands of the 1,154 exhibitors and to discuss pressing packaging issues with experts. This year’s leading theme, „Transition In Packaging“, struck a chord. „Even though the overall situation is not easy for many companies at the moment, the European packaging industry showed itself to be extremely innovative and solution-oriented at FACHPACK,“ sums up Heike Slotta, Executive Director Exhibition, NürnbergMesse.

POWTECH, which took place at the same time, was also exciting for the FACHPACK audience: Just under a quarter indicated that they were interested in the range of exhibits at the trade fair for mechanical processing technology and analytics. FACHPACK will take a break in 2023 and will not be held again until 2024. „Trade fairs are melting points for new ideas, this is where the future becomes tangible. Of course, our immediate future seems anything but rosy as a result of pandemics, the Ukraine war, rising energy costs and inflation. But that is precisely why we need to talk about how we shape change. And here let’s use the jargon of the consumer goods industry: „Change has become a ‚fast mover‘ since sustainability, digitalisation have accelerated, consumer expectations and framework conditions are constantly changing,“ Slotta continued.

Visitors from around 90 countries

FACHPACK offered a comprehensive range of products along the packaging process chain: starting with packaging materials and packaging machines, through packaging printing and finishing, to logistics systems and services. FACHPACK visitors travelled from 89, predominantly European, countries. After Germany, they came to Nuremberg mainly from Austria, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, France, Turkey and Slovenia. Compared to the previous events, the international share rose to around 32 per cent (2021: 29 per cent).

Trade audience: 85 per cent decision-makers

More than 90 per cent of the trade visitors were (very) satisfied with the range of products and services in the exhibition halls, as shown by the results of a visitor survey conducted by an independent institute. 85 percent of the trade visitors said they were involved in purchasing and procurement decisions in their companies. More than half have a managerial position. The visitors came primarily from the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and medical, cosmetics, chemical, electronics, automotive, retail, packaging and logistics sectors.

It’s best to make a note of it right away: FACHPACK will take a break in 2023 and will next be held from 24 to 26 September 2024 in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg.
